Prizes & Rules
The Kearney Area Community Foundation is offering three types of prizes during the December 1, 2016, Give Where You Live online giving day campaign. All prizes are cash grants to approved participating nonprofit organizations. Below is a listing of the prize opportunities:
Challenge Match Pool
At the conclusion of Give Where You Live, the Kearney Area Community Foundation will verify each nonprofit’s proportionate share of the matching funds raised. The amount received will be based on each organization’s overall percentage of funds raised the day of the event. This is NOT a 1:1 match. If an organization receives 3% of the total funds raised on December 1, they will receive 3% of the matching funds available. Maximum donations of $25,000 per donor, per nonprofit organization, will qualify for matching funds. (If a donor gives more than one donation totaling more than $25,000 to the same nonprofit, only $25,000 will be matched.)
A Golden Ticket is an opportunity for your organization to receive an additional $200 during the Give Where You Live campaign. Throughout the day on December 1, donors will be chosen at random from the donations made through GiveWhereYouLive.Razoo.com to have an additional $200 given to the organization that received their donation. Golden Tickets are in addition to any portion of the Challenge Match Pool an organization receives. Golden Ticket winners will be drawn randomly by Razoo every hour based on the donations received during the previous hour.
New in 2016: There will be two “Power Hours” when more Golden Tickets are drawn for online gifts made between 7:00–8:00 a.m. and 7:00–8:00 p.m.
A Nonprofit Bonus is an opportunity for your organization to receive an additional grant during the Give Where You Live campaign. The Kearney Area Community Foundation will provide bonus grants to the top three (3) nonprofits with the most “unique donors”* as follows: 1st place: $1,000; 2nd place: $750; and 3rd place: $500. (This will be awarded after the event when unique donors are verified).
New this year, the organization with the most unique online gifts will receive a $500 bonus (this will be awarded after the event when unique online gifts are verified).
*A donor giving to the same organization more than once will only be counted as one unique donor. For example, one donor using two different email addresses will only be counted as one unique donor.

Any individual may donate. Donations through Give Where You Live 2016 are received and receipted by Razoo Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity that operates a donor advised fund to fulfill donor advisements. All other gifts are receipted by the Kearney Area Community Foundation.
The minimum donation is $5 for online gifts and $10 for all other gifts. There is no maximum donation limit. Donations are tax-deductible and irrevocable (donations will not be refunded). Online contribution may be made via credit and debit card only, November 1 – December 1. Cash and check gifts may be made on December 1, by stopping by the Kearney Area Community Foundation office between 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. The nonprofit organization will receive the full donation, less a flat rate of 5.9% (plus $0.30 per transaction) which covers the credit card processing and Razoo fees. There is no fee to participate (the Kearney Area Community Foundation doesn’t receive any fees from gifts made during Give Where You Live).
For an organization to participate, they first must register and be approved by Kearney Area Community Foundation. To do so, please visit the Nonprofit Toolkit for instructions.
Organizations can track donations in real-time and have access to donor name and contact information, unless the donor chooses to make an anonymous contribution. As host of Give Where You Live 2016, the Kearney Area Community Foundation will receive contact information for donors who participate in Give Where You Live 2016. This information is used solely to thank the donor for participating, provide the option to opt-in to receiving future notifications from the Kearney Area Community Foundation, and to notify the donor of future Give Where You Live 2016 activities.
The Kearney Area Community Foundation can modify any restrictions or conditions if, in the sole judgment of the Board of Directors, such restriction or condition becomes unnecessary, incapable of fulfillment or inconsistent with the charitable needs of the community. As such, the Kearney Area Community Foundation reserves the right to deny or condition the distribution of prize grants if, in the judgment of its Board of Directors, such restriction or condition becomes necessary.
